Minister of Youth & Sport, Imam Nahrawi guarantees PERSIB can host its first continental match in AFC Cup against Maldivian side New Radiant FC next week in Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung.
According to Imam, the postponement of ISL Kickoff has nothing to do with the participation of PERSIB and Persipura in International event. Persipura, as the runner up ISL last year is privileged an automatic spot in AFC Cup.
“Related to that matter (participation in AFC Cup), it is an exception. We will surely issue the permit needed,” said the minister as cited from the official site kemenpora.go.id today.
Meanwhile, with regard to the postponement of ISL 2015, Head of BOPI (Indonesian Professional Sports Governing Body), Nur Aman stated that there is a difference of policy during his term than in the past.
“I have no idea where exactly the difference is, but we are referring to the existing regulation, which is law of SKN no. 3 of 2005, about National Sporting System. We are also studying the statute of FIFA and AFC. There is no compromise and hopefully will never be even in the future,” he stated
